The Richmond Main Street Station Renovation

The Richmond Main Street Station Renovation

We love to work on big projects all over the Virginia/DC/Maryland/North Carolina area… but we’re especially excited when we get to take on projects in our home town of Richmond! Concreate, Inc was honored for the opportunity to work on one of Richmond’s most historic landmarks… The Richmond Main Street Station!

The Richmond Main Street Station Renovation Project

Taylor and Parrish Construction, a local General Contractor, was brought in to renovate this Richmond classic. First and foremost, they wanted to protect the floor of the “Shed“, the new addition to the Richmond Main Street Station. They poured the floor, and we installed Skudo floor protection so that it would be guarded against damage during the rest of the construction process. The end result (below!) is a true testament to how well a floor can turn out if you protect it, and maintain it as Taylor and Parrish did, throughout the construction process.
We were one of the last trades in on this massive, multiple year-long project, and upon completion of most of the renovation, we removed the Skudo floor protection. It was our time to “shine!”
 The Process

We polished the second floor to a high shine finish using all Ameripolish products: Ameripolish 3D HS (densifier), Ameripolish 3D SP and Ameripolish SR2. The stain we used was Ameripolish in their “Sand” color. This process took about 3 weeks. We then went back several months later and applied the same process, polish and stain on the ground floor. From start to finish,  we polished approximately 80,000SF!

You may have seen this historic building on “The Bachelor” last year… or maybe not. Either way, we were honored and thrilled with the final result!
